Substitute Teachers

Attention New Substitutes!

All newly hired WCPS substitutes completing Wayne Community College Effective Teacher Training after January 1, 2022, will receive reimbursement for the training fee of $70.00.

If you have a passion for helping children grow academically, then we would like to help you take your place at the head of the class. Wayne County Public Schools is looking for motivated individuals that can maintain classroom instruction while the teacher is away. We are now accepting substitutes with a high school diploma. New WCPS Substitute Teachers are required to attend Effective Teacher Training, unless you hold an active North Carolina teaching license (please see note at the bottom).
