Good Evening Warrior Family, this is Mr. Jones, the proud principal of EWHS. I hope everyone has had a restful and safe holiday and are ready for the upcoming week. Students, we will begin the 2nd Semester tomorrow. We will follow our extended homeroom schedule this week. You will report to homeroom for the first 45 minutes of school. This will give you the opportunity to get your new schedule and will allow you to meet with your counselor to update or change your schedule for the 2nd semester. All schedule changes must be done by the end of week. No schedule changes will be allowed after Friday, January 10th. Parents and students, we will be meeting with your child’s grade levels this week to review school-wide expectations. We ask you to help bridge the relationship between school and home and support us with conversations with your child about daily school expectations. As a reminder, fighting, the use or possession of drugs and verbal disrespect towards staff is not tolerated and appropriate consequences will occur. Seniors, the Herff Jones representative will be on campus Friday during all four lunches for Senior make-up orders. Get your orders in so that you will have them in time for graduation. Parents and Students! All buses are back on schedule and will be running their AM and PM routes. Thank you for your continued patience during this time even though transportation was a struggle the 1st Semester. We have several athletic events this upcoming week. On Tuesday, the Warrior Swim Team will have a meet at the Goldsboro YMCA at 5:30. On Wednesday, our Warrior Basketball Teams will host West Craven beginning at 4:00, the Warrior Track Team will have a meet at Princeton HS beginning at 4:00 and our Warrior Wrestling Team will have a home meet beginning at 5:30. To wrap up our week, our Warrior Basketball Teams will head to Princeton HS with games beginning at 4:30. We hope to see you at all these events to support our Warriors. Warrior Family! We had an amazing 1st Semester and we want to continue that momentum leading into the 2nd Semester. The importance of attending school and being on time to class is vital in your educational success. I am confident that this upcoming semester will be equal to or if not better than the 1st semester. And as always…WE ARE EWHS! I hope each of you has a safe and wonderful rest of your weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone Monday morning in Warrior Country! Goodnight!

As second semester is coming up, our FFA officers took to the ice skating rink to make sure they are ready to lead our chapter this spring. This bonding event gave the officers time to reconnect and get focused on the many activities that will happen over the course of the spring semester. Thank you Ms. Crouch for leading such a wonderful team of officers.

What a great time for our Men’s Basketball team outing. Off the court and on the lanes these young men had a great time hanging out celebrating the end of the semester. We are looking forward to the upcoming holiday tournament at UMO starting Friday night.

Good Evening Warrior Family, this is Mr. Jones, the proud principal of EWHS. I hope everyone has had a restful and safe weekend and are ready for the upcoming week. Beginning tomorrow, students will be taking their State EOC, CTE and District Make Up Exams. On Monday, 1st period state EOC, CTE and District Make Up Exams will be administered. On Tuesday, 2nd period state EOC, CTE, and District Make Up Exams will be administered. On Wednesday, 3rd period state EOC, CTE, and District Make Up Exams will be administered. On Thursday, 4th period state EOC, CTE, and District Make Up Exams will be administered. On Friday, all make-up state EOC, CTE and District exams will be administered. Attendance will not be noted this week, so if students do not have an exam on the designated days, they do not need to report to school. It is important that students report to school on time and focus on their exams. We are wanting to continue this upward trajectory of student achievement moving into the 2nd Semester. We will dismiss students each day once exams have concluded. This will be between 12:15 and 1:00. No early checkouts will be permitted or allowed unless proper documentation is presented. On Friday, December 20th, the Varsity Boys Basketball Team will participate in Round 1 of the FCA Winter Classic at the University of Mount Olive against James Kenan HS with a 7:00 tip time. We hope to see great student, parent and alumni participation to fuel our Warriors to victory. On behalf of all the staff here at EWHS, we hope each of you has a wonderful week and a safe holiday season. We hope you spend some quality time with family and friends and make memories that will last a lifetime. And as always…WE ARE EWHS! I hope each of you has a safe and wonderful rest of your weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone Monday morning in Warrior Country! Goodnight!

Some of our National Honor Society students went and participated in Wreaths Across America at the Veteran's Cemetery today. They represented EWH well. Some also helped do Jingle in the Park last week at Herman Park. The director of Parks and Rec had nothing but wonderful things to say about our students! Thank you for representing EWHS with pride! 👍🏼❤️

An incredible milestone happened for our band! Performing during the first two rounds of the state playoffs. You see, we haven't had a band instructor for a number of years and we are in a building season. Mr. Tharrington is doing an amazing job with these young people and we are proud of them. Congratulations 🎉🎵
