Good Evening Warrior Students and Parents, this is your Principal, Mr. Jones. I hope everyone had a restful and safe weekend and are ready for the upcoming week.
What an amazing week we had this past week at EWHS. Our Freshman Student Government representatives were finalized and our 2024 Homecoming Court were able to campaign to their respective grade levels on why they should be their class representative. But, the amazing teaching and learning that our administrative team witnessed this week was something to be proud of!
We will be celebrating EWHS Homecoming the Week of October 7th. Please be on the lookout on our website and Facebook page for upcoming events and school spirit activities.
Parents, as you know our new Student Information System for the District is Infinite Campus. We no longer have PowerSchool. Be on the lookout for an email about the Parent Portal starting Monday.. These emails only went to parents/guardians that had three conditions met in Infinite Campus:
Their households were completely built in Infinite Campus, with their students attached
They had an email populated on the demographic screen
They had at least the Guardian checkbox checked in the household (and likely the contact priority)
An email will start going out every Friday afternoon at 5:30pm to those that have not set up an account. That way, parents/guardians will get their emails as the households are built during the week. Having a Parent Portal account will be crucial for the implementation of the next phase of Infinite Campus, which includes online registration & messaging.
Attention Seniors! Tux and Drape Make-Ups will be this Thursday, October 3rd.
We have several athletic events on campus this week, so come on out and support our Warriors! This Wednesday, September 27th is an Early Dismissal day for Wayne County Public School students. EWHS will dismiss on this day at 1:00. Parents, please be on time to pick up your student. This will ensure our staff can be on time to attend necessary professional development.
As a reminder students, it is imperative that you attend school daily and get to class on time. Tardies add up to unexcused absences and we do not want those avoidable absences to cause you to not succeed and reach your full potential.
If you still need bus assistance, please see your homeroom teacher and communicate these needs to them.

Parents, our carpool drop off and pick up location is located on the left side of the campus by the football field. With that being said, please do not drop off your child in any other area of campus, except for when you are bringing our child to school after the 8:00 start time. We have tightened up this process to ensure you can get in and out of the parking lot in a timely manner. Please communicate with your student to arrive at the designated pick up location as quickly as possible at the end of the school day.
Attention all 17 year olds and seniors! There is a state law that all students who are seniors or aged 17 (whichever comes first) must have their 2nd MCV vaccine within 30 days of turning 17 or within the first 30 days of school for seniors. After the 30th day, which is September the 30th, students who have not received their MCV vaccines are not permitted to attend school until they are in compliance. Our school nurse will be reviewing and sending home letters this week as well as each month as students turn 17.

A HUGE shout out to Mr. Allen Ginn and his Electrical Trades class. They spent days replacing bulbs around the school. For those of us who arrive at O dark thirty, this is a welcomed sight.
Do you know that CTE (Career and Technical Education) in high schools provide students with hands on training and skills in various industries, preparing them for successful careers or further education? CTE programs enhance employability , foster practical experience, and align education with workforce needs, ensuring students are job-ready upon graduation.
In addition to Electrical, here at EWHS we offer the CTE experience in Family and Consumer Science, Marketing and Business Education, Health Science, Agricultural Education, Carpentry and Automotive.
When you see a CTE teacher, thank them!
Wayne County Public Schools will operate on a 2 Hour Delay Schedule for tomorrow (9.17.24). EWHS students will begin their day at 10:00AM and will report to 1st Period.
Good Evening Warrior Students and Parents, this is your Principal, Mr. Jones. I hope everyone had a restful and safe weekend and are ready for the upcoming week.
This past week we received some amazing news at EWHS! Due to your child's hard work this past school year and our amazing and dedicated staff, EWHS is no longer a low performing school. EWHS moved from a D school to a C school. This is a huge accomplishment for us. However, the job is not done! We must continue to succeed and work hard each and every day!
As a reminder students, it is imperative that you attend school daily and get to class on time. Tardies add up to unexcused absences and we do not want those avoidable absences to cause you to not succeed and reach your full potential.
If you still need bus assistance, please see your homeroom teacher and communicate these needs to them.
Parking passess are still available for purchase for $20. Students who do not have a parking pass can not park on campus. Violation of parking will result in parking citation.

This is a reminder that ALL middle school students that come to any athletic event here at EWHS, must be accompanied by a paid adult. That adult is responsible for that student while attending the event. After discussing with surrounding middle school principals and our Superintendent, Dr. Whichard, we feel this is necessary to ensure safety on our campuses due to the recent behavior that has occurred at our home athletic events this year with our middle school students. Thank you for your understanding with this matter.
Students and staff! This is a reminder that Tuesday is picture day! Come dressed to impress for this photo opportunity. Students will be called by homeroom to come down and get their pictures taken.
Attention Seniors! Senior Tux and Drape Make-Up picture day will take place on October 3rd.
And as always…WE ARE EWHS! I hope each of you has a safe and wonderful rest of your weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning! Goodnight!
