I want to start out by recognizing our wonderful assistant principals, Ms. Marchelle Sutton and Mr. Chris Chase. Thank you for the amazing work and dedication that you pour into our students and staff each and every day. We are happy to recognize you this past week for Assistant Principal Week. We also want to recognize Mr. Radford and Ms. Wilson for National Library Week. Mr. Radford does an outstanding job managing our library resources for our staff and students to access. Ms. Wilson does a phenomenal job to ensure our students and staff have the technology needed for academic success. We thank you for all the hard work you both continue to do.
Seniors, Livingstone College will be on campus on Thursday at 8:30 conducting an interest meeting for any seniors interested in attending Livingstone College. Seniors must meet the criteria of a 2.5 GPA or higher. Representatives from Livingstone College will discuss what wonderful opportunities they offer for students and will be there to answer any questions students may have.
Senior Trip to Kings Dominion deposits are still being accepted. Please turn these in to Mr. Willoughby in the West Wing during your lunch period. The permission form must accompany the student payment. In order for the trip to happen, we must have a minimum of 40 seniors to attend.
EWHS Prom tickets are still on sale in the main building lobby during all 4 lunches.
This upcoming week we have several athletic events before our Spring Break holiday. On Monday, EWHS will host the Wayne County Track Championships beginning at 1:00. Also, the Warrior Tennis team will travel to Southwest Edgecombe for their 4:00 match. On Tuesday, the Warrior Baseball, Softball and Soccer teams will have home games and matches against ALA. Softball will begin at 5:00 due to Senior Night and Baseball/Soccer will begin at 6:00. On Wednesday, the Warrior Track team will host a Conference meet beginning at 4:00. To wrap up the week, the Warrior Baseball team will have Senior Night against Wayne Prep at 6:30 on Thursday.
Our EWHS Booster Club is sponsoring a Golf Tournament at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course on Saturday, May 17th. You can also reach out to Mrs. Lindsey Duke at lindseykatherine1414@yahoo.com, our Warrior Booster Club President, to sign up or visit our school Facebook page.
Lastly, there will be no school this upcoming Friday, April 18th through Friday, April 25th as we recognize Spring Break. Students will return on Monday, April 28th.

On April 10th in the EWHS Cafeteria, our SGA and Art Club will be sponsoring a Paint Night from 6:00 until 8:00. Food will be provided, so come on out and bring the whole family and enjoy some laughs, fellowship and creativity.
On Saturday, April 12th, our FFA is holding their spring plant sale fundraiser. Please come on out and support our Warrior FFA program. A flyer will be posted on our school website and Facebook page tomorrow, April 7th.

Seniors and Parents of Seniors, we are in the preparation stages of offering a one-day Senior Trip for our students here at EWHS. An interest Survey was sent out and the majority of the students voted for a one-day Senior Trip to Kings Dominion. We will hold an information session with students on Friday, March 28th to review costs and logistics. We are excited for this opportunity for our students here at EWHS!

There are many scholarships opportunities available. Your counselors have been sending out emails daily of scholarships that you can take advantage of. Please check these out with your family and begin planning your academic future.
Your child’s 1st period teacher should have passed out registration information for the 2025–2026 school year last week. If your student has any questions, please have them see their counselor in Student Services.
Students! Do you have school spirit? Parents, please have your student check their email concerning spirit week for this upcoming week. To get more student participation, a trophy will be awarded to a female and male student in each grade level who show the most school spirit during our Pep Rally on Friday. In order for students to qualify for the trophy, students must participate each day of the week as well as check-in with Mr. Radford in the Media Center. A judging committee will determine the winners! Lets see how creative you all can be!
This upcoming week begins our NCHSAA 2A State Playoffs. Our Warrior Boys will host Hertford County HS on Tuesday night at 7:00. Our Warrior Girls will travel to Fairmont HS with game time at 7:00. Second round game location and times will be posted on our school website on Wednesday morning. Come on out and cheer for our Warriors and support our Warrior Booster Club at the concession stand!
