Congratulations to our Warrior Boys track team as they took home 3rd Place this past weekend in the NCHSAA 2A State Playoffs. We had several competitors take home individual and team medals as well. We also want to congratulate the Warrior Girls 4x100 Relay team for finishing 2nd in the state championship. We are proud of each one of you for your accomplishments on the track.
We have several award ceremonies on campus this upcoming week. On Tuesday, we have our JROTC Awards. On Wednesday we have our Athletic Awards and on Thursday we have our School-Wide Academic Awards. All ceremonies will be held in the main gym beginning at 6:00.
On Tuesday, May 20th, our Seniors will be participating in the Senior Walk at local feeder Elementary Schools. This is a great opportunity to show our upcoming Warrior students what they get a chance to look forward to in the coming years.
Seniors! Go ahead and mark your calendars for Graduation Practice at the University of Mount Olive beginning at 9:00. Transportation will be provided! As a reminder, student attendance at graduation practice is mandatory and is a requirement for you to be able to participate in the graduation ceremony on June 7th. If you have a scheduling conflict please ensure you speak to one of the administrative team members and or Ms. Daniels in Student Services.

The EWHS Prom is this upcoming Friday. If you have purchased tickets you may pick up an Early Release form from the front office and or Ms. Sutton, our assistant principal. This will document that you are approved for leaving early on Friday to prepare for the Prom that evening. Also, tickets are still on sale in the main building lobby during all 4 lunches. The cost is now $75.
This upcoming week, our spring athletic programs will begin their NCHSAA playoff games. As of now, the NCHSAA is putting together the seedings and the brackets. We will post to our school Facebook and school websites tomorrow afternoon once we receive the seeding and playoff brackets from the state.
Our EWHS Booster Club is sponsoring a Golf Tournament at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course on Saturday, May 17th. It is not too late to sign up for this event. I want to start out by recognizing our wonderful assistant principals, Ms. Marchelle Sutton and Mr. Chris Chase. Thank you for the amazing work and dedication that you pour into our students and staff each and every day. We are happy to recognize you this past week for Assistant Principal Week. We also want to recognize Mr. Radford and Ms. Wilson for National Library Week. Mr. Radford does an outstanding job managing our library resources for our staff and students to access. Ms. Wilson does a phenomenal job to ensure our students and staff have the technology needed for academic success. We thank you for all the hard work you both continue to do.
Seniors, Livingstone College will be on campus on Thursday at 8:30 conducting an interest meeting for any seniors interested in attending Livingstone College. Seniors must meet the criteria of a 2.5 GPA or higher. Representatives from Livingstone College will discuss what wonderful opportunities they offer for students and will be there to answer any questions students may have.
Senior Trip to Kings Dominion deposits are still being accepted. Please turn these in to Mr. Willoughby in the West Wing during your lunch period. The permission form must accompany the student payment. In order for the trip to happen, we must have a minimum of 40 seniors to attend.

Softball will begin at 5:00 due to Senior Night and Baseball/Soccer will begin at 6:00. On Wednesday, the Warrior Track team will host a Conference meet beginning at 4:00. To wrap up the week, the Warrior Baseball team will have Senior Night against Wayne Prep at 6:30 on Thursday.

On Saturday, April 12th, our FFA is holding their spring plant sale fundraiser. Please come on out and support our Warrior FFA program. A flyer will be posted on our school website and Facebook page tomorrow, April 7th.

An interest Survey was sent out and the majority of the students voted for a one-day Senior Trip to Kings Dominion. We will hold an information session with students on Friday, March 28th to review costs and logistics. We are excited for this opportunity for our students here at EWHS!

This past week, we celebrated School Social Workers Week! We truly thank ALL of the social workers that work tirelessly for our students in Wayne County. The dedication they show each day is amazing and a testament to their care and concern for all students. We want to thank Mrs. Melanie Smith for all the work she puts in for our students here at EWHS. Parents! The end of the 3rd 9 weeks will be this Friday, March 14th and report cards will be distributed on Friday, March 21st. Teachers have been communicating with your students to ensure all work has been submitted by the end of the week. Tomorrow, March 10th, we will hold our monthly Athletic Booster Club meeting in the EWHS Cafeteria. This meeting is open to all parents who want to help assist with raising funds for our EWHS athletic programs. To the current booster club volunteers.
