Congratulations to our JV Football team! They finished their season at 7-1. Congratulations Coach Hooper on an amazing season! Congratulations to Coach Oates and his football coaching staff as our Varsity Football team finished the season at 8-2! The passion that our Warrior Football team shows each night they step out on the field is amazing! Our Varsity Football team has made the 2A State Playoffs and will have at least 1 home football game. I challenge ALL staff to come out and support our Warrior Football team!
Some Seniors will be taking the Workkeys assessment on November 13th. To help prepare our students, we will be offering remediation this upcoming week to ensure students know what to expect and to ensure they will be successful. A schedule has been shared with your child’s teacher of their remediation time and location.
“Coins for a Cause” is an initiative to raise money for those in need in Western North Carolina as a result of Hurricane Helen. We are asking for students to bring in change to put in the appropriate grade level jug! Students can bring change to the front office and or the cafeteria during their lunch until November 6th. The grade level with the greatest change total will receive a prize on Friday, November 15th. There has to be a minimum of $25 collected in order for a grade level to win! We appreciate your generosity during this time.
On Friday, November 8th at 10:00, EWHS will have our annual Veterans Day Assembly. This year we are scheduled to have a guest speaker, Col. Bofferding, who is the Deputy Commander of the 4th Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. We would like to invite any parent/guardian who is a veteran to the assembly. You would need to be seated in the main gym prior to 9:50AM. Due to limited space, we only have room for 70 parent and or guardian veterans. Please RSVP to the main office prior to Tuesday, November 5th if you plan to attend.

Congratulations to our Varsity Football Team as they won the 2A-Neuse Championship this past Friday night at North Johnston. The Warriors head into the last game of the year with a 7-2 record and 4-0 in conference play.
JV Football will play this upcoming Thursday night at home against Goldsboro. Kick off will be at 6:30PM. To finish off our week, our Varsity Football Team will head to Goldsboro to take on the Cougars with a kickoff at 7:00. Come on out and support our Warriors as they wrap up their regular season.
I want to give a big shout out to our Juniors and Seniors as they participated in the College Fair here at EWHS this past Thursday. The college representatives that were in attendance enjoyed speaking with our students and had nothing but positive things to say about our students here at EWHS! We could not be more proud of them for showing Warrior Pride.

This upcoming week is College Application Week. College Application Week encourages the entire community to promote college as the next step after high school. Please see your counselor for more information. On Monday, October 21st, all Sophomores will participate in the Pre-ACT. Room assignments have been sent to your student in preparation for the Pre-ACT. There will be a HBCU College Fair at the W.A. Foster Recreation Center from 4:00-7:00 in Goldsboro on Tuesday afternoon, October 22nd. Make sure you check out this wonderful opportunity to gather information and ask questions. On Thursday, EWHS will host a college fair for our Juniors and Seniors to check out. Please encourage your student to sign up for this event through their homeroom teacher or counselor. We will also have School Picture Make-Ups on Thursday in case your child missed this opportunity on the original picture day. We have several athletic events this upcoming week, so come on out and support our Warriors! On Monday, the Warrior soccer team will have an away match at Goldsboro beginning at 6:30. On Tuesday, Soccer will have an away match against N. Johnston beginning at 6:00. On Wednesday, Soccer will have an away match against Spring Creek beginning at 7:30. On Thursday, JV Football will host N. Johnson at 6:30. On Friday, to finish our week, Varsity Football will travel to N. Johnston, with the kick off at 7:00. What a great 2024 Homecoming Week we had here at EWHS! We had amazing participation with our spirit days this past week and students were enjoying all the activities that we had. To end Homecoming Week, our Varsity football team took care of business against Spring Creek and we had a successful Homecoming Dance on Saturday night. Students! Our school counselors have sent out numerous emails this past week concerning scholarship opportunities! Please check these out as these can be of great benefit for you and your future. Set up an appointment with your counselor if you are interested in these opportunities! We have several athletic events on campus this week, so come on out and support our Warriors! On Monday, Volleyball will have an away Conference Tournament match against Goldsboro beginning at 5:00. On Tuesday, Soccer will have a home match against Spring Creek beginning at 6:00. On Wednesday, Cross Country will have a Conference Tournament meet. On Thursday, we will be honoring Senior Night for our Warrior Soccer team against Beddingfield beginning at 6:00 and our JV Football team will travel to Smithfield-Selma High for their game at 6:30. Students involved in Miss Crouch’s Agriculture courses toured alumna Marlowe Ivey’s Hog operation, today. These students were able to learn about what it takes, daily, to run this operation as well as discuss misconceptions that surround the industry. We are thankful that Marlowe was willing to share her story and open her farm to the students of Eastern Wayne High School.
