Attention parents of Falcon Seniors! October is NC Countdown to College Month. The following events will be taking place this month for our students. October 1st-11th: Fall Senior Conferences with counselors October 8th: FAFSA Night at WCC 6pm October 22nd: Senior Night at WCC 6-8pm October 21st-25th: NC Free Application Week October 24th: CBA College Fair 10-11am (11th & 12th grades) If you have any questions, please contact our guidance department.

The Wayne County Fair Cheer Competition is set for Wednesday, Oct. 2 starting at 5:00pm. The Golden Falcon Cheerleaders will be competing in the High School Division! Come out and cheer on our team!!!

The Pre-ACT will be given to all 10th graders on Tuesday, Oct. 22-Thursday, Oct. 24 2024. This test will allow our 10th graders a taste of what taking the ACT in 1th grade will be like.

Bus 619 will not run its morning or afternoon routes Thursday, Oct. 3rd.

Bus 618 will not run morning or afternoon routes on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024.

Progress Reports will go out this week. Parents can use their student’s Infinite Campus credentials to monitor student attendance and grades as we wait for the parent portal switch over.

As a reminder: This Wednesday, Sept. 25 is an early dismissal day. Please be sure to have all transportation arrangements in place for a 1:00pm dismissal.

ATTENTION: FOOTBALL GAME DAY CHANGES! Due to the threat of unstable weather for Friday, our JV and Varsity football games have been moved up. JV will play AT East Wake on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6:00pm Varsity will play at HOME on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7:00pm. Thursday's game will also be Little Falcon and Norwayne Middle Recognition night!

Aycock High School for Saturday 8.17.2024: Hello Golden Falcons Family: As we inch closer to the start of our 2024-25 School Year, we want to share some important information and dates to save for your calendar. With Principal Tod Morgan moving to the coast to serve at Topsail High School, we will have a new Captain at the helm of the Flagship! We welcome back home our new CBA Principal - Mr. Nelson Cunningham! Mr. Cunningham will serve as the 11th Principal in the 63 year history of CBA! Our Floating Open House will be held at CBA on Wednesday 8.21.24 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, with an assembly in the New Gym at 6:00 PM. Our 1st Day of School will be on Monday, 8.26.24 with school starting promptly at 8:00 AM and dismissal at 3:00 PM. For the first 2 weeks of school our students will report to Homeroom first thing in the morning from 8:00 to 8:45 AM before heading to 1st period. There will be no school for students or staff on Monday, 9.2.24 as we honor our Labor Day Holiday. We look forward to a great start to our 2024-25 school year and to seeing you around The Flagship! An Important Message from CBA for Sunday, 8.4.2024: Hello Golden Falcons Family! I hope my message finds you and your families doing well and enjoying your summer! Our Charles B. Aycock High School Administrative Team, School Improvement Team, Leadership Team, School Counselors, Front Office Staff, and Custodial Staff have been working hard this summer to plan and prepare for our 2024-25 school year. We are excited to host our Fall Sports Parents Meeting at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 6th in our New Gym. We look forward to seeing all of our Fall Sports Parents, Student-Athletes, and Coaches for this required NCHSAA Parent Meeting. We are also very excited to welcome back our CBA Faculty & Staff on Thursday, August 15th, and our Golden Falcons students for our 1st Day of school on Monday, August 26th! Lastly, we look forward to seeing everyone for our Floating Open House event for all of our 9th through 12th grade students from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 21st! An Important Message from Charles B. Aycock High School for Sunday, 6.9.2024: Hello Golden Falcons Family! It was another great year at The Flagship and we look forward to bringing our 2023-24 school year to a wonderful close with our Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday, June11th at 9:00 AM. A few reminders for our Graduation Week: -On Monday June 10th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, we will have our Mandatory Graduation Practice for our Class of 2024. Each Graduate who plans to participate and walk during our Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony MUST participate in this mandatory practice. -Please arrive early for our practice, as we will start promptly at 9:00 AM in the New Gym. -Please wear casual attire that is still WCPS Dress Code compliant for our graduation practice. -We recommend that you wear the shoes that you plan to wear during our Graduation Ceremony during practice in order to make sure you can comfortably walk in them on the field and stage. -We will distribute seven tickets to each graduate at graduation practice. Four of these tickets will be gold with three of them being blue. You may use all seven tickets if our ceremony is held outside at our Hardy Talton Stadium Field. -In the event of inclement weather, we will hold our ceremony inside our New Gym, and the four gold tickets will be used for admission into the New Gym for our indoor ceremony. -We highly recommend that everyone arrive early for our Graduation event, as we expect a large crowd and parking will be limited. -Please remember that at NO point should any parents, guardians, family members, or friends who are in attendance for our ceremony come onto the field area. The graduates will leave the field area to greet their family and friends for celebration hugs and photos at the conclusion of our ceremony. A Message from Charles B. Aycock High School for Sunday, 6.2.2024: Hello Golden Falcons Family! Hope everyone enjoyed this beautiful Eastern North Carolina weather on the 1st weekend of June! We look forward to a great week of Final EOC Exams this coming week! We should release each day after our exams are finished around 12:30 PM. Students who are in good standing for attendance should only come on their EOC Exams days. Seniors in the Class of 2024, please remember to pay all senior fees and any other fees owed. Also, remember to turn in all uniforms, books, calculators, and / or school property this week by Wednesday June 5th in order to participate in our Graduation Ceremony. Seniors please remember that we have Mandatory Graduation practice on Monday, June 10th from 9:00 until 11:00 AM. We will begin our practice in the new gym and then transition to the stadium field. You MUST participate in our Mandatory Graduation Practice in order to walk in our Graduation ceremony. We will distribute Graduation Tickets during Graduation practice. Each graduate will receive seven (7) tickets for our outdoor ceremony with four (4) of those tickets denoted for indoor use should we need to move our ceremony indoors into the New Gym due to Inclement Weather. If you need additional tickets please work this out with fellow classmates who may not need or plan to use all of their allotted tickets. Our Graduation Practice is for our Class of 2024 graduates and our CBA Faculty & Staff only. It is closed to parents / families and the general public. Our Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024 at 9:00 AM. It will be held at this date and time regardless of the weather. If the weather is nice, then we will be outside on the Hardy Talton Stadium Field. If inclement weather, then we will be inside in the New Gym. A Message from CBA for Saturday 5.25.24: Hello Golden Falcons Family! Hope everyone enjoys their Memorial Day Weekend! Let's all find a moment to reflect and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom! A few reminders for our last couple of weeks of school: No School for Students or Staff on Monday, 5.27.24 as we honor our Memorial Day Holiday Tuesday, 5.28.24 is our last day before we begin Testing. Wednesday, 5.29.24 through Friday, 5.31.24 will be our Teacher Made, Common Formative Assessment, and Project Based Measurement assessments / Exams. Friday, 5.31.24 is our Powderpuff events (Volleyball and Football) to begin at 3:30 PM in the New Gym for Volleyball and then transition out to the football field. Monday, 6.3.24 through Friday, 6.7.24 will be our EOG Exams. Please review our EOG Exams schedule via email shared with everyone as it has changed some this year from what we have done in the past, in order to better accommodate our ability for students to retest this year. Friday, 6.7.24 is our last official day of school and also our EOG Exams make-up day. Our Mandatory Class of 2024 Graduation Practice will be held on Monday, 6.10.24 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. We will start in the new gym and then transition to the stadium field. Our Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, 6.11.24 at 9:00 AM at our Hardy Talton Stadium Field. An important message from Charles B. Aycock High School - 3 Year Accelerated Graduation Pathway Meeting... Hello Golden Falcons Family! If you or your child are interested in learning more about a three-year accelerated graduation pathway, we will be holding a brief parent meeting on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024 at 6:00 PM. This meeting is being held for all rising 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students, with all rising 9th grade students meeting in the CBA New Gym and all rising 10th and 11th grade students meeting in the CBA Media Center. During this meeting we will share a 9 minute video that details information regarding both the traditional graduation pathway and the accelerated graduation pathway. We will also have a brief question and answer session. Based on the NC State Board of Education emergency rule, any rising 9th grade student and their parent / legal guardian must attend a meeting with a school administrator before they can request being a part of the Three-Year Accelerated Graduation pathway, and this Parent Meeting will complete this requirement.
