Due to the threat of heavy rains, isolated flooding, and tropical storm winds being forecast for our area, Wayne County Public Schools will be CLOSED for all students and staff, tomorrow, Thursday, August 31.
A reminder that junior ring orders and senior graduation orders will take place during lunch this Friday, September 1. Also, picture day for students in grades 6-11 will take place Friday, September 8.
Progress reports are being sent home with students today.
Wayne School of Engineering Spirit Wear is on sale until Sunday, September 3. Get yours before the store closes at https://wse23.itemorder.com/shop/home/. All orders will be completed after Sept. 3 and all items will be shipped to the school for distribution.
A Herff Jones representative will be here Friday, September 1 during lunch to take junior ring orders and senior graduation orders. Order packets were sent home with students earlier in the week. If you have any questions, please let us know.
Student parking permit forms should be completed and the $20 parking fee paid by 1:00 PM, Friday, August 18. A five-dollar late fee will be assessed daily beginning Monday, August 21. The forms are located on the homepage of our website and under the Student Tab.
Students in grades 10, 11, and 12 have the opportunity to attend the United Way Volunteer Fair at the Maxwell Center on August 23 @ 10:30 am. Field trip forms were provided to students, so please speak with your student about this opportunity.
WCPS closed out its School Bus Driver Appreciation Luncheon by announcing its new 30 step salary scale for school bus drivers beginning July 1. The new starting salary is $16.17 per hour with drivers receiving annual pay increases. The district also presented a $500 appreciation bonus to bus drivers for their efforts to pick up extra routes and responsibilities this year due to driver vacancies. Thank you again for all that you do!!
