FTA is collecting gently used coats, gloves, and blankets to donate to Western North Carolina. Turn these items in to your 3rd period teacher. The class that brings in the most items will win a Pizza Party on November 26. The last day to bring in any items will be Friday, November 22.

The Winter Sports parent meeting is this Monday at 6:00. All winter sport athletes and a parent or guardian need to attend.


Our College Advisor, Mr. McNeill, is hosting a FAFSA Night on Thursday, November 21 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the cafeteria. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about the FAFSA process. Come out and join us!


Picture Day has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 12.


Goshen Mobile will be on-site on Monday, November 4th to provide free sports physicals for athletes. This is a great opportunity for students who want to play winter or spring sports but still need a physical. Middle school students from the community are also welcome to attend. English and Spanish forms are available in the front office at Southern Wayne. The event will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM in front of the New Gym.


All tenth-grade students will take the Pre-ACT tomorrow, Wednesday, October 30th. All other students will remain in their second period class until testing ends. Wednesday is also an early dismissal day for students so school will dismiss at 1:00 pm.


Here are the athletic events for the week. Monday night is Senior Night for Boys' Soccer, and Friday night is Senior Night for Football. Come out and support these athletes!


Today is report card day! Students will also receive Impact Aid Surveys. These surveys need to be returned to school by Friday, November 1st.


Our Juniors and Seniors attended the CACRAO College Fair yesterday. This was a great opportunity for them to talk to different colleges and see what programs they have to offer. Thank you to our counselors and college advisor for setting this up for our students!











The rescheduled date for the Pre-ACT is next Wednesday, October 30th. The Pre-ACT is being given to all 10th-grade students.


Wear your favorite college apparel tomorrow to help us celebrate College Application Week. Make sure you still follow the dress code.
Juniors and Seniors, there is also a College Fair for you tomorrow from 1:00-2:00. You will be called out of class to attend. Be sure to check your email for the pre-registration link from Mrs. Britt. If you are having trouble finding it, search for "CACRAO College Fair and StriveScan" in your email.


Bus Change: Bus 502 is now bus 125!


Open House for our 10-12 grade students is tomorrow night in the New Gym. We hope all of our students are able to join us!
Any student that did not return a Chromebook and charger at the end of the school year can turn them in tomorrow night. Remember, your Chromebook must be returned in order for you to check one out this year.


We are excited to meet our incoming freshmen tonight!


Fall sports kick off this week with Volleyball and Boys Soccer. Good luck to our athletes!


Please join us as we help Make a Difference Food Pantry tackle hunger! At the football game against Goldsboro on Friday, August 30th, we will be collecting can foods to donate to Make A Difference Food Pantry in Mount Olive. For every can that is brought, fans will be given a raffle ticket for a chance to win various gift cards. Winning raffle tickets will be drawn at halftime. All fans are welcome to participate!


We are hosting a prayer walk for our school on Sunday, August 18th, at 7:00 PM. We'll meet in front of the new gym. Everyone is welcome to participate.
