Military Band Students from all over North Carolina were nominated and selected to participate in the first ever Military Child Honor Band. The students were fed, given a t-shirt, and a certificate to mark the occasion. Thanks to many donors, this event was free for every student. Norwayne had two amazing students chosen, Kylie on flute and Gavin on trombone! We are so incredibly proud of you two and our other Wayne County students that were represented from Greenwood Middle, Rosewood Middle and Rosewood High School. 🩵💜💚 A YouTube link will be posted of the concert at a later date so stay tuned.
Thank you all for your service!!

Another pair of W's for the Cobras!!!
Whoop whoop!!

"On Saturday April 20th, 8 NMS choral students performed at this years NC Middle School All State Choir event in Greensboro NC; Victor Battle Jr, and Kyleigh Millard (6th grade choir); Claire Boney, Jalyn Brown, and Allyssa Derksen (Treble Choir); Sarah Heath, James Corbin Urban, and Dason Wellman (Mixed Choir).
Students spent the past two and a half months learning five pieces, all unique to their own ensembles, before traveling up this past Thursday, April 18th. Given the distance these students had to travel, they went up a day early to explore the wonderful world of Old Salem and learn about the musical Moravian people that inhabited the city.
Students rehearsed Friday from noon until 9pm at night with a dinner break between, before returning to rehearse once more Saturday morning before the afternoon concert. There were roughly 200 students from the mountains to coast (73 schools total) in each ensemble. Thank you for all your hard work and making Norwayne proud!"
