Olivia Spence won the invented instrument competition at the 2023 STEAM Festival. The annual STEAM Festival offered by the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is an educational event showcasing the innovative possibilities of the combined learning disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. The public is invited to experience concepts that direct the research and application methods of STEAM development.
The 5th-8th Grade Musical Instrument Display will showcase students’ competency of the principles of STEAM exploration in real-life applications. The musical instruments will be fully functional and interactive by the public.

November 13-17 is World Kindness Week. Our Better Together Club has decided to spread kindness that week by raising needed wish list items for Kitty Askins. Kitty Askins is a local hospice center that cares for members of our community during their final days. The resources raised are used for the patients, and the family members who visit with them. Shown below is a list of items they are requesting. Please send any items you wish to donate to the school anytime during the week of November 13-17. We will deliver all items to Kitty Askins after the collection is complete.

Mrs. Ringe's class got into the Halloween spirit! Students completed a figurative language lesson by reading "The Raven," by Edgar Allan Poe, and watching fun video interpretations. Students had a blast working together to find all the figurative language within the poem!

Gabriel Sabaldica and Logan Segura-Sanchez together with their team ranked 5th out of 14 teams in NC who competed in 1st NC Lego League held in Burlington NC last Saturday. He will be competing for First Lego competition in Grenville, NC on Nov 5th.
