Congratulations to all honor roll students for the spring semester (3rd quarter)! The senior class had the most honor roll students with a total of 77%! Congratulations to our CBA FFA Leader - Harley Marie Haley in her success at the 2024 Wayne County Jr Livestock Show and Sale. This took place at the Wayne Regional Agricultural Fairgrounds on April 4th, 2024. An Important Message from Charles B. Aycock High School for Saturday, 4.6.2024: Hello Golden Falcons Family! Hope everyone has enjoyed Spring Break and took time to recharge our batteries for the stretch run! We have 8 weeks of our 2023-24 school year left before our final exams the 1st week of June and our Class of 2024 graduation ceremony on Tuesday June 11th, 2024 at 9:00 AM! It will be a busy and exciting last couple of months of our school year with lots of important Academic, Arts, and Athletics events, awards ceremonies, induction ceremonies, and our Junior / Senior Prom! A few reminders for our upcoming week: Our Parent Advisory Council will meet on Monday, 4.8.2024 at 5:00 PM. We will have our next College Day on Tuesday, 4.9.2024 and encourage everyone to wear our favorite college team's gear that day as we celebrate our college and career going culture at CBA! Our Juniors will complete the ACT Workkeys testing on Tuesday, 4.9.2024 and Wednesday, 4.10.2024. Some of our 10th and 12th grade students will participate in the WCPS Career Fair at the Maxwell Center on Tuesday, 4.9.2024. Our 1st Annual First Responder Career Day will be held on Friday, 4.12.2024. On this day, we will use the dirt parking lot for this event, so all early release / late arrival car riders who normally park in this lot will need to park in the main student parking lot on this day. Herff Jones will be on campus during lunches to deliver Cap & Gowns to Seniors on Friday, 4.12.2024. Congratulations to our Senior Football Stand-out, Cohen Ezzell, who signed with ECU! We are very proud of you Cohen! Seniors in the Class of 2024, with our Graduation Ceremony being held on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024 at 9:00 AM, we are only eleven (11) weeks from your big day! Please make sure you have paid all Senior Fees and any other Fees Owed to Mrs. Gainous in the front office; make sure that you have purchased your Cap & Gown items needed for our Graduation Ceremony; and lastly and most importantly, please make sure you are continuing to attend school and work hard to pass all of your classes, to earn the opportunity to walk at graduation. March is National School Social Workers Month and we are certainly very Thankful for our wonderful Social Worker, Mrs. Melissa Swenson and all that she does for our Golden Falcons Family! A few reminders for our coming week: This coming week is our Flex Week schedule for our enrichment / clubs week. Clubs will meet on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We have our early dismissal day with dismissal at 1:00 PM on Wednesday. The end of our 3rd quarter grading period is on Wednesday. Also, please save the following dates for some important future events: On Friday, 3.22.24, we will have an extended homeroom schedule so that our students can receive their report cards and their 2024-25 course registration packets. The week of Monday 3.25.24 through Thursday, 3.28.24, we will have Flex Schedule as we hold our AP Course Interest meetings in the media center. On Tuesday, 3.26.24 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, we will hold our Future Falcons Night for all incoming 9th grade students & families, and any students & families who are new to our school. Aycock High School for 5:00 PM on Sunday, 3.3.24: Hello Golden Falcons Family: This message is to share some important information regarding our upcoming FAFSA Night for this Thursday, 3.7.24 at 6:00 PM in the Media Center. The event should last from 6:00 until about 7:30 PM with a presentation at 6:00 PM and then time for students and families to work on the FAFSA Application process with online access. The FAFSA presentation will be given by our partners from Wayne Community College. Also, it is highly recommended that students and parents obtain an FSA ID at least three (3) days prior to our FAFSA night event in order to allow time for confirmation through the Social Security Administration and to reduce the possibility of manually entering tax information. In order to complete the online FAFSA applications, both the students and parents will need a Social Security Number in order to create the FSA ID. Congratulations to our CBA Senior, Harley Marie Haley who was awarded a scholarship at the Wayne County Livestock Association 76th Annual Meeting. The $3,000.00 scholarship was awarded to Harley to attend the university of her choice.
