Hello Golden Falcons Family!
Congratulations to Coach Z and our Varsity Football Team on a great win last night over Rosewood! Kudos to our Students, Families, Fans, and Community for showing out with a big crowd, which was awesome especially considering that school has not started back yet! The Band, Student Section, Cheerleaders, and Booster Club Concessions stand (Best in the East!), all added to the electric atmosphere and huge win!
We've had a great start to our Fall Sports season, with Volleyball, Men's Soccer, Women's Tennis, JV Football, and Varsity Football all getting early victories in our early seasons! A Great Fall Sports season always sets the tone for a great school year, so keep up the great work student-athletes and coaches!
A couple of friendly reminders for our upcoming week:
Our 9th Grade Open House will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023 as a Floating Open House between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. This is for incoming 9th Grade students and their families only. No schedules will be distributed on this night for any 10th, 11th, or 12th grade students. Only 9th grade students will receive their schedules at the 9th Grade Open House.
Our 10th, 11th, and 12th Grade Open House will be held on Thursday, August 24th, 2023 as a Floating Open House between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. Only 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students will receive their schedules at the 10th, 11th, and 12th Grade Open House.
At both Open House events, there will be an Information Session at 6:00 PM in the New Gym, where students and families will learn more about our school's expectations from Principal Tod Morgan and our CBA Staff.
Our 1st Official Day of School for the 2023-24 School Year will be on Monday, August 28th, 2023. We will report to Homeroom first each day during the first week of school during the week of August 28th through September 1st, 2023.
Monday, September 4th, 2023 is Labor Day Holiday with No School for Students and Staff on this day!

CBA PE Uniforms!
In 2023-24, all students taking PE and/or Weight Training classes will be able to purchase a PE Uniform to meet WCPS Dress Code. $25.00 per set (includes shorts and T-shirt). Order forms and link will be provided at upcoming Open House nights and future announcements. #TheAycockWay
CBA - Meal Prices for 2023-24
CBA will return to charging students for Meals this 2023-24 school year. We will continue to follow the traditional free/reduced meal application method.
There will be no increase in student meal prices for the 2023-2024 School Year.
Student breakfast will be Universal Free.
Full price student lunch - $2.35
Reduced price student lunch - .40
More information will be shared at next week's Open House nights and on further announcements.

Hello Golden Falcons Family:
As we inch closer to the start of our 2023-24 school year, I want to take time to review some very important expectations we have for our CBA Golden Falcons:
Cell Phones and Personal Electronic Devices:
Please note that this year, students will not be allowed to use cell phones and/or personal electronic devices at any point during the school day. No Cellphones should be visible at any point during the school day and will be confiscated and returned to the parents if a student does not meet this expectation. This includes Lunch, transitions between class, and during the instructional time of our school day. This will be a foundational cornerstone for our school's success.
A Safe and Respectful Learning Environment:
We will maintain our high expectations for our students to act in an appropriate manner for our high quality educational environment. Students who can not act in an appropriate manner will be assigned appropriate disciplinary consequences for their actions and inappropriate behavior. This will be a foundational cornerstone for our school's success.
Attendance:
Research shows that students who attend school perform better in their academic pursuits, therefore we will continue to place a premium on student attendance. Last year our student attendance rate was 93.3 %, but we strive for a 97% or higher attendance rate and need your help in reaching our standard this year. This will be a foundational cornerstone for our school's success.
Protecting Instructional Time:
We also place a premium on protecting instructional time for our students and teachers, therefore, we will limit intercom announcements and classroom disruptions, to include an emphasis on our No Tardy Policy to protect the educational opportunity of all of our students during instructional time. We expect high quality teaching and learning from bell to bell for every student, in every class, every day! This will be a foundational cornerstone for our school's success.

An important message from the Wayne County Public Schools System and CBA - Inclement Weather - All Afterschool activities (Athletics and Band practices) CANCELLED for today.
"Due to the threat of inclement weather forecast to arrive late this afternoon and early evening, all non-traditional academic calendar schools will dismiss 2-hours early today, Thursday, August 10. This includes Goldsboro High, Wayne Early/Middle College High School, and Wayne School of Engineering. All students and staff will dismiss two hours earlier than usual to ensure everyone is home and all buses are off the road before any potential high winds or severe thunderstorms occur. Additionally, all after school programs and school sponsored activities and athletic practices scheduled after 4 PM today have been canceled district-wide."
