Prom 2024

Juniors and Seniors,

Eastern Wayne’s Jr/Sr Prom is scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2024, at The Maxwell Center.  Please read the following information carefully, because we want you to be well informed of all Prom activities.  

1.     Tickets will be sold March 12-13, March 19-21, and March 26-28 during all four lunches in Ms. Banner’s room in the West Wing for $50.  Also, they will be sold April 9-11, April 15-18, April 22-23 for $75. You must be classified as a junior or senior through the guidance office in order to purchase a ticket. You must have cleared any debts you have accrued at Eastern Wayne. If your date does not attend Eastern Wayne, you will have to submit a guest approval form prior to purchasing a ticket for your date. Your name and your date’s name will be written on each ticket. Non-Eastern Wayne students will have to show a valid ID at the door in order to enter the ballroom. You will pick up your tickets the week of prom from Ms. Banner.  Please keep your tickets in a safe place. We cannot be responsible for lost tickets, and no refunds will be given.

2.     You must be present at school on May 3rd until at least 11:30 am to attend prom.  You can check out during Warrior Focus.  There will be a form that you will need to get filled out and returned to the front office by Tuesday, ApriWednesday, May 1st.  If this form is not returned in time, then your parents will have to come to the front office and check you out after 11:20 am.  The form will be available closer to the time of prom. 

 3.     On the day of Prom, pictures will be taken. They will be taken on a first come first serve basis. Pictures must be paid for at the time they are taken.

4.     Each senior attending prom should nominate one girl and one guy for prom queen and king at the time tickets are purchased. The four to five girls and guys most frequently nominated will become the prom court. On the night of the prom, seniors will be given the opportunity to make a final vote for prom king and queen. Voting will be from 8 o’clock until 10 o’clock. Your 2024 prom queen and king will be announced at 11 o’clock.

5.     You may enter the Maxwell Center through either door, your tickets will be checked before entering the ballroom.  Once you arrive at the prom, you will not be permitted to leave the prom and return for any reason. This includes going to your car.

6.     This is a formal event and a special night for everyone involved. Make sure that you are dressed appropriately. Under NO circumstances will informal attire be permitted. Inappropriate dress includes, but is not limited to ball caps, jeans, casual shoes such as flip-flops, TOMS, and athletic shoes. Guys should wear dress slacks and jacket, or a tuxedo, dress shirt buttoned up with shirttail tucked in, tie, and dress shoes. Dresses should not be extremely low-cut, reveal bare midriffs/sides, nor have high splits. Please be aware of how your dress fits and moves when you are dancing.  You will not be allowed to enter the prom if you are not dressed appropriately. If you have any questions about your dress, please see one of the advisors to have your dress approved.

7.     You may not bring umbrellas or canes into the ballroom. In the event that it is raining, you may leave your umbrella in the stand in the lobby as you enter.

8.     There will be chaperones and security officers both inside and outside the building. If you have an emergency, these individuals will be able to assist you.

9.     Memories from your high school prom will remain with you for life. The 2024 Eastern Wayne High School prom is a formal affair; therefore, we ask all attendees to adhere to a strict code of conduct, which includes dress and behavior. The dance floor will be open to all forms of dance appropriate for a formal affair. Vulgar dancing will not be allowed. If you choose to dance in this manner, you will be asked to leave the dance floor temporarily. A second infraction will result in immediate dismissal from the prom.

10.  The D.J. will not be taking requests. If you have a particular song that you would like to hear, please let one of the prom advisors know in advance and we will submit a play list to the D.J.

11.  We are fortunate to be able to use such a nice facility for our prom. You are expected to be on your best behavior. Please remember that a lot of money and time has been spent preparing for this event. We will all be representing EWHS, and we want to leave a good impression so that we may hold future events at The Maxwell Center.  We will be responsible for any damage caused during our stay at the club. Please exercise good judgement and be considerate of others and their belongings.  Let’s show everyone the style and class for which EWHS is famous!

12.  Prom guest letters are located on the ledge by the front office. All guests must at least in 9th grade and be under the age of 21 in order to attend the prom.

13.                 No Checks will be accepted!  NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN!!
