Our DECA students recently attended the DECA State Conference and came home with lots of awards and recognition.
Addison Smith received a Sonya Dismuke Scholarship in the amount of $2,500 - the first CBA DECA student to ever receive a DECA scholarship.
Our chapter was recognized for our community service project this year and we received the 2025 Civic Awareness Award.
Our chapter also received recognition for meeting our state/national campaign goals and we were awarded a plaque for that, along with the Gold Level Chapter of Distinction (the only school in our region to achieve this level).
Mrs. Stephanie Grumesreceived the 2025 Clifton Belcher Professional Division Award, which equates to Marketing Leader/Advisor of the year.
Lexie Valdiviezo ran for the Coastal Region Vice President position and won, making her the 9th consecutive CBA DECA student to hold this position.
Our students did phenomenal, competing against 6,000 other high school students, and possibly the most first place winners in the history of CBA DECA!
Addison Smith and Chase Stewart won first place in the Business Solutions Project.
Jaidyn Anderson, Tyndall Steele, and Rayli Emanuel Zacatula won second place in the Career Development Project.
Avery Abrams and Maleigh Page won second place in the Community Giving Project.
Claire Ahrens, Selena Pham, and Raheem Crawford won first place in the Financial Literacy Project.
Adley Cummings, Sarah Tuck, and Madeline Thomas won first place in the Sales Project.
Each of these events that our students won in were highly competitive events. Each team executed major projects utilizing the Project Management model, wrote 20-page papers, and prepared a 15 minute presentation for the judge. We are very proud of all their hard work. Good Luck at the International Level in April in Orlando, Florida!
