THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT DRIVER EDUCATION CLASS
Students must be 14 years and 6 months old (14 1/2) on the first day of class. (No exceptions)
Students must attend every class. NO ABSENCES allowed, excused or unexcused. If you miss one class for any reason, you are automatically out.
Arrange transportation ahead of time. No phone calls during class.
Students should be dropped off and picked up each day at the cafeteria.
Day 1: Students must remain in the vehicle with his/her parent until speaking with one of the instructors. Parents should remain in the car line--please do not park the vehicle to speak to an instructor.
Cell phones must be turned off (not on vibrate or silence) during the entire class.
Bring lunch, paper, pencil, and pen to class.
Any student who is unable to follow school rules and board policies will be immediately dismissed from the class.
Students that are disruptive, sleep in class, or are in off-limit areas will be immediately dismissed from the class. No gum, radios, pagers, or tobacco products permitted in class. Any student who violates any part of this rule will be immediately dismissed from the class.
Any student dismissed from class that does not have a cell phone should notify one of the instructors. Parents will then be called to pick up the student.
Agreeing to these rules is required for participation in classroom driver’s education.

Day 4 December 07, 2024 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Day 5 December 14, 2024 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Drivers Education Classes Information
General Information:
- All classes are open for students who reside in Wayne County (Private, Homeschooled, or Public School)
- All students must be 14.5 on first day
- All students need to bring paper, pencil, snack, drink, and lunch they prefer. We do not sell snacks or provide lunch.
- All students must attend all 5 days to get credit.
- All students must be at class by 8:00 AM and be picked up by 2:15 PM. If parents cant pick students up by 2:15...THE STUDENT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPLETE CLASS...HE OR SHE WILL HAVE TO TAKE THE NEXT DRED CLASS.

Q. What items does a student take to the driver license office to get a Learner’s Permit?
A: The student will need to take the following items:
Driver Education Certificate
Original or Certified Birth Certificate
Social Security Card
Driver Eligibility Certificate
1 parent or guardian to sign the permit
$25.50 cash for the permit fee
Q. How do I know if my child passed the 30 hour classroom phase of Drivers Education?
A. If your child fails the classroom phase of Drivers Education, the teacher will call you between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm on the last day of the instruction. If you do not receive a phone call from the instructor, it means your child passed the class.
Q. After successfully passing the 30 hour classroom phase, how long will it take before my child is called to drive?
A: Under normal circumstances (We are not normal), it will take up to 6 months for your child to drive. A driving instructor will call to set up schedule.
Q. My son/daughter just turned 16 and a student who is 6 months younger was called to drive.
A: 1. Instructors make their own schedule.
2. Child didn't pass medical or eye exam.
3. Can't read students number on the Restricted Instructional Permit.
4. Phone number on Restricted Instructional Permit has been disconnected.
