Dr. Freda J. Allen currently serves as the principal of Wayne School of Technical Arts. She has a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and a Masters Degree in School Administration from East Carolina University. She has been an educator for over 25 years. She began her career teaching secondary mathematics at Southern Wayne High School. In 2003 she received National Board Certification in teaching mathematics and served as the 2004-2005 Wayne County Teacher of the year. She served as an administrator of Rosewood Middle School from 2011 - 2016. From 2016 - 2024 she served as the principal of Wayne Early/Middle College High School. In 2024, she received her Doctorate from Gardner-Webb University. Dr. Allen is the current Principal of the Year for Wayne County Public Schools.
