Ms. Nicole Carter is a very passionate educator and is very eager to work with all stakeholders to work toward continuous school improvement at Northeast Elementary. She is a Wayne County native and attended Wayne County Public Schools from Kindergarten through graduation. She began her career here in Wayne County in 1997. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Methodist University and a Master of School Administration degree from East Carolina University. She also holds a Curriculum & Instruction Specialist certification through East Carolina and is working toward an additional certification in School Management and Leadership through Harvard School of Education. Ms. Carter’s career journey started at Rosewood Elementary where she served as a teacher. Ms. Carter has also served Wayne County Public Schools in a variety of roles. She was a district Teaching & Learning Coach, Curriculum Facilitator/Interventionist/MTSS Chairperson for Meadow Lane Elementary, and was Assistant Principal of Northeast Elementary from 2016-2021. She left to serve as Assistant Principal at Rosewood Middle for 1 semester and is now very excited to be back with our Northeast Elementary family to serve as our Principal.
Ms. Carter is the proud mother of two unique and fine young men, Collin and Miles. She is also the fur mother of Bones and Dallas, her two very spoiled chocolate labs. She also has a grand dog named Stark, a handsome silver lab. Ms. Carter comes from a very large family. They are very close and blessed to be able to spend a lot of time together. Ms. Carter’s happy place is Lake Gaston, and she spends as much time as possible there making memories with her family and fur boys.
