Library/Media

In library class, our students learn the essential skills needed to navigate any library. In addition, they are exposed to a wide range of favorite children’s authors and introduced to the newest and greatest in children’s literature.  In addition, they are exposed to various forms of media and the use of laptop computers.  The children learn skills needed to select books and videos. They also learn how to access non-fiction text, whether for enjoyment or for use for research projects.

Our librarian offers book sign-out times beyond the scheduled library class. Most classroom teachers use this extra time for students to exchange books.  Books can be kept at home for two weeks, but teaches usually let their students check out every week.

Books that are lost or damaged while in a child’s possession become the responsibility of the family to purchase or pay for the lost or damaged book.

Parents are welcomed and encouraged to visit the library or to contact our librarian with any questions. Parents can come at any time to enjoy the resources the library has available.
