Parent Involvement
Title I Parent Involvement at Dillard Middle School assists in providing open communication among the teachers, parents, school officials, and community. The Parent Coordinator provides workshops that assist the parent in preparing their child to succeed academically in all subject areas. Dillard Middle School has the Parent Advisory Council, Parent Teacher Organization, and Partners in Education that assist with the plans for school activities and decision-making for the activities.
Student Parent Involvement Policy
Dillard Middle School will embrace the involvement of its parents in the total development of their children.
Dillard Middle School's Parent Facilitator will
provide a safe, clean, and pleasant "Parent Resource Room" for students, parents, and the community to visit. The parent resource room is available for :
Parent/teacher conferences
Parent support meetings
Resources for parents/students
Providing materials from Parental Involvement, teachers and students
Scheduled parent workshops to enhance the needs of their children
Provide parents with opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child's classroom and school events
The Parent Involvement Coordinator will provide information for parent transportation to and from school, other school related events in the community.
Dillard Middle School will keep the lines of communication open to parents with phone, emails, school newsletters and web page. Local radio stations, the local newspaper (Goldsboro News-Argus), and School Messenger will also be lines of communication between the school and home.
Parent Involvement Coordinator with the assistance of PTO and Advisory Officers, other parents and administrators will plan and implement activities that will foster relationships between parents and the school that will increase parent and community involvement.
Programs, workshops and activities will be planned at various times to accommodate parent's schedules.
