This week, 44 student artists were recognized at the Wayne County Public Schools (WCPS) 2016-17 Visual Arts Awards Reception held at Goldsboro High School.

Kim Copeland, WCPS Director Specialist, welcomed the students, parents, and educators in attendance. She then introduced the 44 award-winning artists. Tamera Berman-Ishee, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction presented the students with trophies and certificates.

Seventeen students received an Honorable Mention in the Superintendent’s Choice Art Category, five students were runner-ups in the Superintendent’s Holiday Card Category, and four students received an Honorable Mention in the Scholastic Art Award Category.

The Eastern Wayne Middle Choir under the direction of Skip Morris provided the evening’s entertainment.
